Education of inmates through IGNOU/NIOS
Prisoners lodged in different jails of Punjab are motivated and encouraged to complete basic education and other skill development courses as per their liking from IGNOU and NIOS while staying in jails. In this way, all illiterate prisoners can become semi-literate or literate during their stay in the jails and when they go outside the jail, they can use this newly earned skill/education to gain suitable employment outside.
